Reset takes your privacy seriously and we work as hard as we can to honour our commitments. This privacy notice explains what data we may collect using this website, how it is stored and how you can manage the information we may store. Reset are a UK based charity set up to assist neighbours, friends and groups to sponsor refugees to come to the UK.  We are funded by the Home Office and philanthropic organisations to provide support, advice and share best practice at all stages of the Community Sponsorship process

What information do we collect?

To sign up to this campaign, we ask you to tell us your name and submit a valid email address.

Your details will be held in our account with Mailchimp for a period of 3 years.  To be removed from these lists, please use the Mailchimp unsubscribe option. All mailings sent to you in relation to the campaign will offer you the option to unsubscribe. 

We do not collect identifiable information on third parties or anonymous users of this website. We do not collect sensitive personal information or financial information.

We will not pass your details on without your permission. If you give us permission to pass your details on to third parties, we will tell you with whom we have shared your details. Once transferred, the organisation with which we share your information should tell you how they will keep your information. Reset will not hold your details after 30th October 2023.

How do we use personal information?

We use the information you provide us when you sign up to the Communities for Refugees mailing list to:

  • Provide you with information about how to sponsor refugees
  • Update you on the progress of the campaign

What legal basis do we have to hold your data

By returning the form you are permitting us to hold your data for the period specified.

When do we share personal data?

We will treat all personal data confidentially and will not disclose it or share it with third parties without your permission.

Where do we store and process personal data?

Our website server is located in the UK. Our website backups are also stored on UK-based servers but we do not store your personal information via our website.

The information that you submit to sign up to the Communities for Refugees mailing list is stored by Mailchimp, an email service provider, complaint with European GDPR requirements.

How do we secure personal data?

We are aware that data security is a process and not a state. Consequently we monitor and update all the website software on a regular basis in order to ensure that our website security is as robust as possible. To protect personal information:

  • Our website database is backed up daily with copies kept for 28 days.
  • Our staff and contractors are trained in proper use of the website especially with reference to data security.

How long do we keep your personal data for?

We will keep the information you provide us when signing up to the Communities for Refugees mailing list until 30th October 2023. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Your rights in relation to personal data

You can unsubscribe from the Communities for Refugees mailing list at any time via the unsubscribe option included in all communication that you receive through this mailing list.

If you believe that we have, at any time misused your data you can lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office here.
